I personal feel fortunate to have known this woman and witness what a great mother and world support she has been for her youngest son who was born with Down syndrome.  


On October 2, 2011,


I pledge and support the elimination of the derogatory use of the r-word from everyday speech and promote the acceptance and inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.  

It may be the least I can do to to honor Joey, and every person who were born with Down syndrome.  But it definitely made me feel much better about myself.  I am proud to say that I am a part of this movement and that I am contributing little by little every day, in my own way, to spread the word to end the word.
